My story is very simple and to the point ....SEAT BELTS SAVE LIVES! My niece was 6 years old when she and my only sister (her mother) were hit head on by a careless driver. The EMS and Police Officers who were first to report to the scene were very doubtful that "the baby" would make it...My brother in law was in a state of confusion as the Officer remarked "I hope they were wearing their seat belts" My brother -in-law assured the officers they were. The officer remarked how many adults took the time to buckle up kids , but not themselves. I remember asking him "Did you have any doubts that Ann would be buckled in?" He replied "I knew the baby would be , but Ann?"

My sister and my only niece were in fact wearing their seat belts and were RESCUED from the wreck with a couple of scratches! Everyday I am reminded of those horrible moments where the family doubted the use of seat belts...on that day.

The ironic thing was my sister and my niece were only minutes away from the house .....and then in a split second this happened. A short trip,long trip, PLEASE ALWAYS REMEMBER TO WEAR YOUR SEAT BELTS ....EVERYONE IN YOUR VEHICLE SHOULD BE BUCKLED UP!

I Thank God and praise my sister almost every day for buckling her and my niece up. I have learned through that near tragedy to buckle up all precious cargo including MYSELF!
